Emil E. DeCoteau, age 30, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Emil E. "EJ" DeCoteau was born on September 9, 1992 in Rolla, ND to Emil DeCoteau Sr. and Kelly Travis.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well. Emil worked as self-employed and worked in sales.  He was a fun-loving guy who loved to joke, to see people smile, and to see everyone having a good time.  His has a wonderful sense of adventure, loving the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, camping and mudding.  EJ loved the thrill and excitement of his toys, his cars, motorcycles, trucks, going tubing, etc.  He had big dreams and always including those around him in his dreams.  Most of all, EJ loved his family, always saying "there's nothing better than being a dad."  EJ was a kind soul who wanted everyone to feel loved.  He was the rock of his family, the one who brought everyone together, making all feel welcome and included.  His dog, Rosco, was a faithful companion.  EJ gave selflessly and was an organ donor, helping many in need.  EJ will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

EJ is survived by his companion, Kayt Beston; children, Ezakai E. DeCoteau and Emilie R. DeCoteau; mother, Kelly Travis; grandmother, Mabel DeCoteau; siblings, Brandy DeCoteau, Jonathan LaVallie, John DeCoteau, Sasha LaVallie, and Alisha Parisien; and nieces and nephews.

EJ was preceded in death by his father, Emil DeCoteau Sr., maternal grandparents, Melinda Peltier LaFountain and Henry Travis, and paternal grandparent, Vincent DeCoteau, and aunt Angela Travis.

Casket Bearers are Troy Trottier, Philbert Longie Jr., Chris Grant, Rihcard Carrillo, Jason Gooden, and Jordan Parisien.  Honorary Bearers are all family and friends, Jason Puska, Jonathan LaVallie, Lorenzo Longie, and Kota Baker.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM prior to funeral services.  Niles Yoder officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date.
