Eleanor Gustafson, age 89, of Rolla, ND passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at SMP- St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.

Eleanor May Gustafson was born on October 21, 1935 in Montreal, Quebec Canada to Agnes Purdie Rowe Roy and Wilfred Currie Roy. At the age of 16 she moved with her mother and two sisters, Eileen and Beverley to Los Angeles, California. She was proud of the fact that she later became a US citizen. Eleanor was united in marriage to LeRoy "Popeye" Gustafson on October 2, 1954 and together they raised seven children, Leonard, Fred, Cynthia, Suzanne, Laurie, Michelle, and Angelique. Eleanor and LeRoy owned and operated the West Side C-Store in Rolla since 1963.  After raising her children, Eleanor went to work at the Rolla Jewel Bearing plant.  She later joined her husband and sons to work at the family-owned business, West Side C-Store.

Eleanor was known for her giving heart and was always willing to volunteer within her community.  She enjoyed reading, watching her favorite television shows, and playing card games, especially Chase the Ace.  Affectionately known as Bubbie, she took great pride in watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren at school and sporting events.  She was dearly loved by her family and many friends and will be affectionately remembered and greatly missed.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Leonard (Lynn) Gustafson of St. John, Fred (Rhonda) Gustafson of St. John, Cynthia (Darrell) Thibert of Fargo, Suzanne Gustafson of Harlingen, TX, Laurie (Lyle) Davis of Burlington, and Michelle (Ray) Trottier of Rolla; grandchildren, Mandy (Thomas), Eve (Cody), Nathan (Samantha), Chris (Penny), Trea, Megan (Clinton), Gabrielle, Nicholas, Phillip, Amanda (Tyler), Sasha, Kayana, Tambraye, Sydney, Raphael, Benjamin, Shelby, Colton, Cayden, Hunter, Jeremy, and Vincent; great grandchildren, Emily, Kenzi, Alexa, Cade, Mila, Lucien, Helena, Cormac, Jayden, Gage, Kalyna, Adaline, Katrina, Sophia, Lily, Brooklyn, Lylian, and Easton; and a sister, Beverley Mazzone of Laguna Hills, CA.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes Roy and Wilford Roy; husband, LeRoy Gustafson; daughter, Angelique Blake; grandson, Trevor Davis; and sister, Eileen Wolfson.

Casket Bearers are Nathan Gustafson, Phillip Davis, Trea Gustafson, Chris Morin, Cade Gustafson, and Jayden Davis, with family and friends as Honorary Bearers. Music by Kevy Jeanotte. Eucharistic Gifts by Carron Foussard and Gail Belisle. Readers are Mandy McAlpine and Eve Booen. Altar Servers are Benjamin and Raphael Trottier.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 5:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, ND with Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, ND with Father Richard Fineo presiding. Burial will follow funeral services at Holy Cross Cemetery, St. John, ND.
