Edward "Ed" Poitra, age 84, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on July 21, 2025 at Veteran' Affairs Medical Center, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Edward "Eddie" Clarence Poitra was raised in Belcourt, ND and born on April 13, 1941, the youngest child to Fred and Mary (Parisien) Poitra.  He graduated from Marty, SD and later joined the military from 1967-1969.  He worked many various jobs until he retirement.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Mary of Utah, his son, Brian Poitra of South Dakota, and daughter, Dianne Primeaux of ND.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Whitney, grandson, Wambli, and siblings, Joseph, Oscar, Elmer, Dominic, Billy, and Patrick Poitra, Mary Sister Francis, Rita Brien, and many nieces and nephews.

Eddie's burial will take place at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND at Noon on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
