Edward Steven “Eddie” Casavant, 74, of Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away on September 25, 2026.

Eddie was born on March 21, 1952, in Thorne, North Dakota, to Etienne and Marie Casavant. He was one of 17 children and grew up on the family farm in Russell Township. He attended school in Dunseith and graduated from Dunseith High School.

Eddie spent most of his adult life in North Dakota and worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed attending auction sales and visiting with friends and family. Coming from a large family, spending time with his brothers and sisters remained an important part of his life.

Eddie is survived by his children, Brandi Casavant and Josh Casavant; his grandson, Cutter Casavant; and his siblings, Rene Casavant, Bobby Casavant, Joe Casavant, Gerald Casavant, Jimmy Casavant, Aime Casavant, Kathy Ellingson, Carolee Halverson, Yvonne Marchand, Lorette Aamodt, Bernadette Boucher, and Maryann Boucher.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Paul Casavant, Aggie Casavant, Annette Boucher, and Elizabeth Casavant.

A private family gathering will be held in Eddie’s memory.
