Earl Reed Jr., age 77, of Belcourt, ND passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Earl Albert Reed Jr. was born on October 15, 1945 in Devils Lake, ND to Earl Sr. and Beatrice (Johnson) Reed.  He was raised in Devils Lake and completed his education there as well.  He furthered his education at college for one year.  Earl enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.  He was united in marriage to Cyrilla Morin on April 21, 1979 in Devils Lake.  He was the proud father of a daughter, Dawn, and a son, Cory.  Earl worked many jobs throughout his life, manager of Lake Region Ambulance Service, deputy sheriff, Paint & Glass in Devils Lake, Munro's Hardware, dog catcher, and teacher, often teaching EMT and Scuba Diving search and rescue classes.  He also installed flooring for several years. Earl enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening.  He loved his family and the time they spent together.  Earl will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Earl Jr. is survived by his wife, Cyrilla Reed of Belcourt; daughter, Dawn Reed of Rugby; son, Cory (Amy) Gourneau of Belcourt; brother, Gerald Reed of Fargo; grandchildren, Brittany (John) Morin, William (Amy) Hagman, Cory (Candace) Gourneau, Gemini Reed, Noah Gourneau; great-grandchildren, Dayton, Rourke, Emma, Molly, Liam, Ryver, Kace, and Karsyn; and nieces and nephews.

Earl Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Earl Reed Sr., mother, Beatrice Boyer, step-father, George Boyer, and brothers, Harvey and Duane Reed.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday, October 2, 2023 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 9 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow funeral services in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
