Earl Poitra, age 52, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023 at his home.

Earl Martin Poitra was born on September 5, 1970 in Belcourt, ND to Lowell Sr. and Bonnie (Poitra) Poitra.  He was raised in Dunseith and completed his education at Dunseith High School, graduating in 1989.  He furthered his education, obtaining a carpentry certificate.  Earl worked for Turtle Mountain Housing as a carpenter.  He was the proud father of two sons, Austin and Wyatt.  Earl enjoyed being outdoors, golfing and attending demolition derbies, as well as playing darts.  He loved spending time with family members and friends, especially his grandbabies and his sons.  Earl will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Earl is survived by his sons, Austin Poitra of Dunseith and Wyatt Poitra of Dunseith; two grandbabies, Zailyn and Zyer Poitra; mother, Bonnie Poitra of Dunseith; sisters, Melissa Anderson and Shinelle (John) Trim; brother, Lowell Poitra Jr.; lifelong friend, Sherry Poitra; and nieces and nephews.

Earl was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Poitra Sr., mother and father-in-law, Irvin and Shirley Poitra, grandparents, Martin "Buck" Ilene Poitra and Alfred and Virginia Poitra, uncles, Paul Belgarde, Earl Poitra, Bradley Poitra, Lionel Poitra, and Allen Poitra and aunts, Donna Belgarde and Eleanor Poitra.

Honorary Bearers are all family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 10:0 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Dunseith, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow funeral services at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Dunseith, ND. Following services a meal will be served at Eagle Heart Building, Dunseith, ND.
