Dorothy Baumgartner, age 88, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Belcourt Hospital, Belcourt, ND.
Dorothy Mae Baumgartner was born on May 28, 1933 at home in rural Belcourt, ND to John S. and Mary Rose (McGillis) Parisien. She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education there as well. Dorothy furthered her education at Mayville State University and at the University of North Dakota obtaining a Bachelor of Education Degree.
She was united in marriage to Eugene "Beans" Baumgartner on December 3, 1971, and then had their marriage blessed at St. Benedict's Catholic Church on April 27, 1973. Together they had four children, Ruby, Conrad, Troy, and Loren. Together they also raised Kali and Kass. Dorothy worked as a teacher at Turtle Mountain Elementary School for many years until her retirement in 2002. She loved music, visiting with family and friends, doing word finds, cooking and baking for her family, going to the casino, watching football and WWE wrestling, and scrolling Facebook. She was a devout Catholic and had an unending faith in God, dedicaiting much of her day to mass and prayer. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her numerous students, friends, and relatives.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Eugene Baumgartner of Belcourt; sons, Conrad (Carletta) of Belcourt, Troy (Michelle) of Belcourt, and Loren (Tonya) of Dunseith; 14 grandchildren, Kali (Chad), Kelby, Nathan (Stacy), Natasha (Lucas), Conrad Jr., Amber (Jody), Cole (Ashley), Drew, Taylor (ShaRee), Quinn (Neil), Krista, Derick, Gracie, and Kyler; 36 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brothers, Leonard, Vincent, James, Joe, and Raymond Parisien; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Rose, daughter, Ruby "Tubby" Parisien, grandchild, Kass Parisien, and great granddaughters, Everly LaFountain and Adalynn Marion, brothers, Tom, Stanley "Sonny", George, Charlie, and John, and sisters, Helen, Lucy, Metha, Laura, Irene, Alice, and Viola.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
