Donald "Chib" Morin, age 81, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Donald Patrick "Chib" Morin was born on July 8, 1939 in Belcourt, ND to Alec and Roseanne (Charette) Morin.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education in Stephan, SD.  Chib was united in marriage to Frances "Frankie" Jeanotte on November 3, 1962 in Pierre, SD.  Together they raised two daughters, Dawn and Leslie.  Chib worked for the BIA for many years, and as director of the Turtle Mountain Housing Authority and served on the tribal council as well.  He enjoyed the outdoors golfing and had a love for animals, all kinds, including his dogs, cats, birds, and even his wild snake.  Chib also liked playing cards and dice with family, tinkering in his garage, trying his hand at carpentry, and his classic cars, which he was very proud of.  Chib loved his family dearly.  He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

Chib is survived by his loving wife, Frances "Frankie" Morin of Belcourt; his daughters, Dawn (Brian) Charbonneau of Cavalier and Leslie Parker of Belcourt; four grandchildren, Jenna (Aaron) Ssemujju, Samantha (Zachary) Tessman, Aimee Charbonneau, and Alex Parker; six great grandchildren, Jyllian, Isabella "Bella", Avalon "Bob", Reese, Ariella "Ari", and Saylor "Baby"; siblings, Betty (Dick) Bernard of Alabama, Louise (Clint) Juair of Wahpeton, Bonnie Oliver of Illinois, and Linus Morin of Belcourt; and many nieces and nephews.

Chib was preceded in death by his parents, Alec and Roseanne Morin, great grandchildren, Trey and Brekken, brothers, Melvin "Boboy" and Joe Morin, and sisters, Geraldine "Geri" Dauphinais and Ruth "Sissy" Blue.

A visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Elick Funeral Home, Rolla, ND.  A Rosary Service will be held at 4:00 PM at the funeral home led by Dallas and Rose Morin.  A burial will take place on July 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM at his home in the family cemetery.  A Meal and Celebration of Life will take place on July 9, 2021 at his home, all family and friends are welcome to attend.
