Donald Neameyer, age 72, of Mylo, ND passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Eventide Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake, ND.
Donald "Don" Eugene Neameyer was born to Earl and Ethel (Galow) Neameyer on July 7, 1950 in Rolla, ND. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in the Mylo, ND area. He joined the United States Army in December 1970 with two years of service in South Korea and received and honorable discharge in September 1972. He then returned to Langdon, ND and worked on the construction of missile bases in that area. In 1975, he started farming and purchased his farm north of Mylo, ND and has lived there ever since. He retired from farming in 2015.
Don loved horses, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and boating. He was married to PoKyong "Judy" Kim on May 9, 1972 and later divorced; they had two daughters, Sonia and Tina. In a relationship previous to the marriage, he had one daughter, Laurie.
Don is survived by his life partner, Audrey Burrell; daughters, Laurie (Steve) Schumer of Manvel, ND, Sonia Neameyer of Chicago, IL, and Tina (Don) Saunders of Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren, Matthew Schumer, Joshua Schumer, Rachel (Schumer) Maher, and Henry Saunders; two great grandchildren, Grayson Maher and Eliana Maher; brothers, Ken (Betty) Neameyer of Battle Lake, MN and Steve (Beverly) Neameyer of Mylo, ND; sister, Cheryl (Gordon) Krech of Rolla, ND.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ethel Neameyer.
Casket Bearers are Allen Krech, Dustin Krech, Brad Neameyer, Matthew Schumer, Joshua Schumer, and Cody States. Eucharistic Gifts by Cheryl Krech and Steve Neameyer. Reader is Sandy Mitchell. Music by Maureen Munro and Jessica Rosinski.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Rolla, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. Burial and Military Honors will take place at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Bisbee, ND at 2:00 PM. Father Thai Arul presiding.
