Obituary

Devon Champagne, age 29, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Devon Jacob Champagne was born on June 4, 1991 in Rolla, ND to Darrell and Debbie (Gunville) Champagne.  He was raised in Belcourt and attended Catholic School for 8 years, completing his education at Belcourt Schools, graduating in 2009.  He furthered his education at TMCC in Belcourt for two years.  Devon worked at the St. John Head Start as a teacher aide and bus driver.  He was an avid music lover and dreamed of one day being a musician.  He taught himself how to play the guitar and did so regularly, loving the music he produced.  Devon also liked golfing, the Vikings, going on road trips, and being with family and friends.  He loved comedy and was a movie buff.  Devon had an amazing faith and at one time considered going into the priesthood, serving Mass until his junior year in high school.  He missed his brother, Dustin, dearly whom he loved unconditionally, never truly getting over his loss.  Devon had a heart of gold, always willing to help anyone in need.  He will be lovingly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of his family members and many friends.

Devon is survived by his parents, Darrell and Debbie Champagne of Belcourt; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dustin Champagne, grandparents, John and Helen Gunville and Raymond and Eileen Champagne, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Reader is Cindy Gourneau.  Eulogy by Duane Gourneau.  Music by Pat and Linda Peltier and family.  Rosary led by Darrell and Debbie Champagne.  Pall Bearers are Dustin Zaste, Jesse Azure, Ryan Hiatt, Adam DeCoteau, Keith Strong, Jordan Houle, Tyson Morin, John Gunville, Trenton Gunville, Allen Gunville, Aaron Gunville, and Skyler Gunville.  Honorary Bearers are all family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 10:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will be in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.  Father Dave Brokke presiding.
