Dennis Lund, age 81, of Belcourt, formerly of Rolette, ND passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Dennis Gehart Lund was born on April 7, 1940 in Rolette, ND to Gehart and Amy (Jensen) Lund.  He was raised in Wolf Creek Township, Rolette, North Dakota.  He attended Rolette Public School and was involved in Basketball, Drama and FFA. He graduated May, 1959.   Dennis furthered his education at Wahpeton State School of Science obtaining a degree in Auto Mechanics.  Dennis returned to the farm, where he took over the Lund Farm after his father retired.  Dennis was united in marriage to Ruth Ann "Tiny" Davis on September 2, 1990 in Grand Forks.  Together they made their home in Rolette on the farm, until he retired. They moved from the farm in late 1990s to be by their daughters in Belcourt, North Dakota. They both enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and casino and most of all spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who they loved dearly.  Ruth sadly passed away in 2017.  Dennis resided in their home and his daughter cared for him until his last days.  Their daughters built them a home close to them, so they can care for them during elderly years.  Dennis and Ruth were very thankful for the care their daughter's provided.   Dennis' daughters spent time with him going out to eat, driving by the farm to look at the crops and spending holidays with all the grandchildren at his home.  They cherished every moment they had with him.  Dennis will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Dennis is survived by his daughters, Barbara Jean Peltier of Belcourt, Susan (Delmar) Langan of St. John, and Joan (Clayton Slater) Malaterre of Belcourt; grandchildren, Ashley (Daniel) Frye of Bemidji, MN, Leon (Tia) Peltier of Fargo, Dustin Langan of St. John, Clayton "Bub" Slater Jr. of Belcourt, Weston (Symone) Slater of Belcourt, Jenna (Jordan) Peltier of Belcourt, Richard Slater of Belcourt, Michael (Syann) Slater of Belcourt, Mitchel (Mikki) Slater of Rolla, Kiefer Langan of St. John; two step-grandchildren, Delmar (Vernette) Langan Jr. of Haslet TX and William (Michelle) Langan of Belcourt;  23 great grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Lund of Medford, Oregon; sister, Shirley Beetham of Indianapolis, Indiana; and nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruth Ann "Tiny" Lund, brother, Shelby Lund, sister, Patsy Gaughen, brother and sister-in-laws, Mae "Ubbs" (John) Demery, Francis "Lito" Davis, Joyce "Teese" (Rick) Schroeder, Raymond T. Davis, Nora "Sister" Davis, and Linus Davis, and good friend, Delores "Big Dee" Lohnes.

A Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Elick Funeral Home, Rolla, ND.  Burial will take place at a later date.
