Dennis Laverdure, age 75, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility, Belcourt, ND.

Dennis Gerald Laverdure, Belcourt, North Dakota passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility.

Dennis G. Laverdure was born November 11, 1946 in Belcourt, North Dakota to Patrick and Patline (Vondal) Laverdure.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his schooling at Belcourt Schools.  Dennis furthered his education at Turtle Mountain Community College (TMCC) for two years.  He was the proud father of five children; Denise, Jessell, Toby, Neil and Laycee.

Dennis worked at TMCC as a teacher in electrical instruction and also for Vocational Rehabilitation in the transportation department.  Dennis worked at the missile sites near Langdon, ND, the power plants as an electrician near Stanton, ND, and Washburn, ND, and at Turtle Mountain Manufactory Company in the maintenance department.

Dennis enjoyed being outdoors fixing cars and camping, playing guitar and singing, going to the casino, listening to the fiddle show and local talent on KEYA radio station.  He also enjoyed visiting family and friends, telling stories and baking bread.  He had a wonderful sense of humor, always teasing everyone.  In his younger years he liked playing pinochle with family and friends.  Dennis loved time spent with his loved ones, visiting and just being together. Dennis was an altar boy during his youth and would often share this with everyone.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Dennis is survived by his companion of 48 years, Leslie Poitra. One son, Toby (Melissa) Laverdure; three daughters, Denise Laverdure of Federal Way, WA, Jessell (Charles) Hall of Rolla, Laycee (Garrett Longie) Laverdure of Fargo; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a brother, Gary Laverdure, and a nephew, Jon (Shelly) Laverdure of Belcourt, and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; Patrick and Patline Laverdure, son; Neil, two sisters; Yvonne Davis and Colleen Clauthier and one brother; Patrick (Chiboy) Laverdure.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 29, 2021 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND.
