Delia Jerome, age 81, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Delia C. (Decker) Jerome was born on October 27, 1944 in Reece River, Nevada to Cecil and Evelyn (Pete) Decker.  She was raised in Nevada and completed her education in Stewart Indian School in Carson City, NV. She went on to begin her nursing career in Albuquerque, NM, where she earned her LPN, which brought her to Belcourt.  She later furthered her education at St. Mary College, obtaining a Bachelor of Nursing degree (RN).

Delia was united in marriage to Dwain Jerome on October 16, 1965, and together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.  They raised two children, LoAnn and Dwain.  Delia worked as a registered nurse for Indian Health Service in Belcourt for many years, retiring in 2005.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and took great pleasure in cooking and vaking for her loved ones. Delia was a very social person who enjoyed visiting with the many people who crossed her path. She enjoyed going to the casino.  Delia will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Delia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dwain Jerome of Belcourt; daughter, LoAnn Jerome (Dawn Johnson) of Belcourt; son, Dwain Jerome Sr. (Catina Roberson) of St. John; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings, Chelly (Jim) Brainerd of Centralia, WA, Loretta Goodwin, Jenny Granados, and Eugenia "Ojay" Granados of Chico, CA; and Godchildren, Rory Trottier and Clinton Jerome.

Delia was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Leonard, Lloyd, Floyd, Vernon and Avery, and sister, Angie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 10, 2026 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND.  A meal will follow funeral services at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.
