Delia Lorraine Haas, age 96, of St. John, ND passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at SMP Health-St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.

Delia Lorraine Haas was born on May 15, 1927 in Fairview Township, ND to Fred and Rose (Ouellette) Guedesse.  She was raised in Rolla and completed her education at Rolla High School.  She furthered her education at Minot State University for one year. Lorraine was united in marriage to Leo Haas on June 23, 1949 in Rolla, growing to love and adore her Haas family.  Together they had eight children, Barbara, Edward, Larry, Gail, Carl, James, Janie, and Terry.  Lorraine lived in Rolla and St. John throughout her life, a wonderful homemaker, raising and caring for her family while working side by side on the farm and a carpentry business with Leo.  She was active in the community, a member of the Ladies Legion Auxiliary, St. John School Board member, a member of the St. John Presbyterian Church, and spent many summers involved at Fohcha Bible Camp.  She and her husband, Leo, liked to travel together before losing him 39 years ago.  Lorraine also liked to be outdoors gardening, snowmobiling, and going for a motorcycle ride on occasion with her family members.  Lorraine enjoyed playing cards, especially Rummy, quilting and sewing.  She was a social butterfly and liked visiting with her family members, friends, and all who she came in contact with. Lorraine loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed having her family home for the holidays, even though it was a tight fit at her home.  She was a tough, self- sufficient lady, battling and beating pancreatic cancer in her 80's, while continuing to live a full, happy life surrounded by her family and friends. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered and missed by all.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Edward (Lisa) Haas of Dunseith, Larry (Lorraine) Haas of St. John, Gail (Steve) McAtee of Lake Upsilon, Carl (Lori) Haas of Minneapolis, MN, James (Kay) Haas of St. John, Janie (Carey) Kakela of Lake Upsilon, and Terry (Jeanette) Haas of Fergus Falls, MN; 21 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Rose Guedesse, husband, Leo Haas, daughter, Barbara, sister, Doris Anderson, two brothers, Frank and Lawrence Guedesse, mother and father-in-law, Edward and Grace Haas, brother-in-law's, Edwin (Jenny) Haas and Bob (Amelia) Haas, and sister-in-law's, Ruth (Harley) Jolliffe, Beatrice (Jim) Bromberg, and Lilly (Royce) Johnston.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Community Center (Old Gym), St. John, ND.  Burial will be held in the Rolla City Cemetery, Rolla, ND. Dave Schnackenberg officiating.
