David Monington, age 61, of Rolla, ND passed away on December 12, 2022 at his home.

David Lavern Monington was born on August 25, 1961 in Santa Barbara, California to LaVern and Lillian (Thomas) Monington.  He was raised in Minot, ND and completed his education there as well.  He enlisted and served in the United States Navy.  David was the father of a son, Eric, and three daughters, Christy, Erin, and Michelle.  He lived in Minot, Nebraska, Michigan, and finally Rolla and the Belcourt area for the past 20 years.  David enjoyed the companionship of his dog, Tiny, and going on walks. He also liked watching movies and collecting coins.  David will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

David is survived by his children, Erin (Shane) Cook of Dunseith, Christy Monington of Minot, and Eric Rodr of Rolla; nine grandchildren; sisters, Dawn (Larry) Dove and Diana (Travis) Blaire; and nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Michelle, twin brother, Doug, sister, Debbie, and two grandchildren, Renne and Shane Jr.

A private family funeral will take place in the summer of 2023 at Strawberry Lake, ND.
