David LaRocque III, age 12, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 at his home.

David as born to David LaRocque Jr. and Brittany (Nadeau) LaRocque on March 18, 2014 in Belcourt, ND.

David attended Dunseith Public School in 2021 and graduated from the 6th grade in May of 2026. Throughout his years at DPS he received many awards including the Principal Award, student of the month, 1st place in the school spelling bee and 1st place in the Rolette County Spelling Bee.  Teachers said David was a smart, well behaved, and well-mannered student.  He will be forever missed.

David will be remembered by his smile, his laughter, and his kind heart. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing games, participating in sports and working on his fishing technique; catching walleye.  David also loved to watch the MN Vikings and the MN Timberwolves.  He was also infatuated with storms and tornadoes. (He was a little disappointed that everyone in ND came across Reed Timmer but him.) David had a dog named Sally that he loved and cared for every day.

David III is survived by his parents, David Jr. and Brittany LaRocque of Dunseith; sister, Brenna LaRocque of Dunseith; and grandparents, Dave and Judy LaRocque of Belcourt.

David III was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leland Nadeau and Brenda Malaterre, aunts, Leah Nadeau, Brooke Nadeau, and Lacey LaRocque, and uncle, Eastman Nadeau.

A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 20, 2026 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Dunseith, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. Burial will follow the funeral mass at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Dunseith, ND.
