David John "Crockett" DeMontigny was born on May 21, 1969 in Belcourt, ND to Dennis Herman DeMontigny and Debbie (Schroeder) Jeanotte. He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well. David was a gifted wrestler in high school, winning many state titles and breaking school records. He attended the University of Mary for wrestling for one year and attended the University of North Dakota for a short time following. David enlisted in the United States Navy in 1988 and received an honorable discharge in 1995. He was awarded many medals and honors during his military service as well as going overseas during his service. David was the proud father of two children, Tiana and Mason. He worked various jobs after his military service and eventually owned and operated his own small engine repair business, which he loved. David enjoyed riding anything with wheels, which materialized as a young man making his own vehicles to move around in. He coached wresting at Minot High School for a short time as well when his daughter attended school there. David was crafty with electronics and became fluent with certain data and security systems. He loved his family dearly and the time they spent together. David will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
