David DeCoteau, age 64, of Rolla, ND passed away on March 23, 2022 at the Belcourt Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

David Wilford DeCoteau was born on May 21, 1957 in Belcourt, ND to John and Delema (Dionne) DeCoteau.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  David was united in marriage to Donna Ruth Day and together they had 13 children, Jason, Laurie, Rose, Christy, Florence, Delema, David, Donald, Donna, Dawn, Michelle, and Marie. He was also the father of Darren and had a step-son, Marcel.  He loved all 14 of his children dearly.  David's hobbies included fishing, working on cars, collecting model cars, horses, and collecting coins.  He also liked to go to rummage sales and auctions.  David worked as a mechanic throughout his life.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

David is survived by his children, Jason DeCoteau, Laurie DeCoteau, Rose DeCoteau, Christy DeCoteau, Darren DeCoteau, Florence DeCoteau, David DeCoteau, Donald DeCoteau, Donna DeCoteau, Dawn DeCoteau, Michelle DeCoteau, and Marie DeCoteau; step-son, Marcel Martinez; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Dale, Dennis, Donald, Jerry, Andy, and John Jr. DeCoteau, Patricia Houle, Anita Ingalls, and Jean DeCoteau; and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jennifer DeCoteau, and sister, Carol St. Claire.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.  Funeral Mass will be Monday, March 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND.  Burial will be in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND in the spring.
