Darwin Hamley, age 67, of Rolla, ND passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

Darwin Frederick Hamley was born on June 5, 1958 in Belcourt, ND to Joseph and Marie (LaFromboise) Hamley.  He was raised in Rolla and completed his education at Belcourt High School. Darwin was the proud father to a daughter, Leah.  He worked for Neameyer Body Shop in Rolla for many years, doing excellent painting and body work.  He enjoyed tinkering and fixing many different kinds of things and anything broken.  He was truly and old soul and loved watching the oldies, especially Ed Sullivan, Andy Griffith, Sanford and Sons, and many more.  Darwin will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Darwin is survived by his daughter, Leah (Arden) Thingvold of Leeds; four grandchildren, Julien B. McArthur, Tristin G. McArthur, Aidan R. Thingvold, and Elliana V. Thingvold; siblings, Michael "Mike" Hamley of Devils Lake, Ivan Hamley of Rolla, Shirley Hamley of Rolla, Jolene Dalbec of Carrington, Richard (Diane) Hamley of Washington State, and David Hamley of Jamestown; nieces, Michelle, Missy, and Channel; and nephews, Kenny, Phillip, Jeremy, and Andy.

Darwin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie Hamley, sister, Anita Shirk, brothers, Dennis Hamley and Reginold Hamley, nephew, Jason Hamley, and brother-in-law, Warren Dalbec.

A funeral service will be held at 11: 30 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Rolla, ND with Father Thai Arul presiding. Burial will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Rolla, ND.
