Darryl "Skippy" Jeanotte age 75, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND.

Skippy was born on July 2, 1945 in Belcourt, ND. to John B. and Marie Jeanotte. He attended school and grew up in Rolla. After graduating from high school Skip attended college in Nebraska. He enlisted in the United States Army on March 17, 1966 and was stationed in Germany until March 2, 1968. He later served in the National Guard from January 19, 1983 to February 17, 1986.

Skippy was united in marriage to Donna Keplin on July 13, 2002 and together they raised two sons, Brock and Kersten Keplin.

Skippy worked various jobs before working at the Wahpeton Indian School where he raised his oldest son, Tim. He then moved back to Belcourt where he worked for the BIA Facility Management and retired in 2000.  Retirement didn't agree with him so he worked a few more years for Desjarlais Enterprises and Munro's True Value and fully retired in December, 2017.

Skippy enjoyed and lived life to the fullest. He loved family gatherings, visiting, hunting, camping, riding 4-wheeler, watching football, playing with his grandchildren and most importantly, helping people. His maintenance ability was a benefit to a lot of family members when they needed carpentry, plumbing and electrical done. They all called on Skip and he never said no. He had a passion for old classic cars which landed him a 2005 mustang. He admired and cared for that car with pride. Skippy had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by everyone.

Skippy is survived by his wife Donna (Keplin) Jeanotte; Sons-Timothy (Candace) Jeanotte, Brock Michael Keplin; 7-grandchildren & 1 great grandson; Sisters- Jeanette Grant, Frankie Morin, Gaylene (Linus) Belgarde; & Brother-Leigh (Margie Morin) Jeanotte.

Skippy is preceded in death by his parents: John B. and Marie (Henry) Jeanotte; Son- Kersten Dane Keplin; Sisters-Patty Belgarde, Winona (Siddy) Moore; Brother-Ronald Duane Jeanotte; and In-laws; Dave and Martha Keplin.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church on Monday, January 18, 2021 with Visitation from 8:00AM-9:00AM, Rosary @ 9:00AM &

Mass@10:00AM. Celebrant: Father Richard Fineo.
