Darrell DeLong, age 75, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at his home.

Darrell William DeLong was born on November 30, 1949 in Belcourt, ND to Arthur Sr. and Mary Jane (DeCoteau) DeLong.  He was raised in Belcourt and obtained his GED there as well.  Darrell furthered his education at TMCC in Belcourt for two years.  He worked for the Turtle Mountain Tribe in Belcourt for many years and then was self-employed as a master carpenter.  Darrell was the proud father of four children, Anna, Anthony Sr., Christopher Sr., and Caroline.  He loved time spent with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his loving companion, Mary Ann Crissler. Darrell was a hard-working man, always the boss and loving his work.  He rarely took time for hobbies, but enjoyed animals of all kinds, especially horses and his pets, saving and taking in many throughout the years.  He was most recently found side by side with his dog "Tank."  Darrell will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

Darrell is survived by his companion, Mary Ann Crissler of Belcourt; children, Anna (Orville) Davis of Dunseith, Anthony DeLong Sr. of Belcourt, Christopher DeLong Sr. of Belcourt, and Caroline DeLong of Belcourt; 16 grandchildren, Sarah, Philip, Courtney, Anthony Jr., Amber, Michael, Carol, Christianna, Christopher, Vance, Brittany, Seth, Brandi, Rachel, Deacon Jr. and Brehanna; several great grandchildren; and brother, Arthur (Claudia) DeLong Jr. of Belcourt.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur DeLong Sr. and Mary Jane Clark, sons, Darrell DeLong Jr. and Shane DeLong, granddaughters, Lynelle LaVallie and Caleen Belgarde, and brothers, Gary Lilley and Melvin DeLong.

Casket Bearers are Deacon Wallette Jr., Seth Baker, Philip Belgarde, Jayden Longie, Michael Patnaude, and Blaine Azure.  Honorary Bearers are all family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
