Obituary

Darlene Keplin, age 70, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 at her home.

Darlene M. (Baker) Keplin was born on January 10, 1951 in Belcourt, ND to George "Rabbit" and Mary (Marcellais) Baker.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education at Flandreau High School.  Darlene was the proud mother of two sons, John and Clarence Jr.  She worked at the Sky Dancer Casino in Belcourt as a receptionist and office clerk.  Darlene enjoyed keeping busy by cleaning and decorating her home, which she was constantly rearranging, and playing cards with everyone.  She liked the outdoors, working on various projects, and listening to fiddle and jigging music.  Darlene loved time spent with her family members and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Darlene is survived by her sons, John (Paula) Keplin of Belcourt and Clarence Keplin Jr. of Belcourt; two grandchildren, Riley (Tenicia) Keplin and Jodelle Keplin; three great grandchildren, Evelyn Martin, Jayden Keplin, and Brooklynn Grant; siblings, Johnny Baker, Bobby Baker, Richard Baker, and Marilyn Danks-Baker; and nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Frank, George, Duane, and Raymond Baker, and sisters, Rose Baker and Theresa "Cha-Cha" Baker.

Casket Bearers are Riley Keplin, John Keplin, Clarence Keplin Jr., Ryan Keplin, Mike Keplin, Pat Keplin, Johnny Baker, and Brian Crissler.  Honorary Bearers are all family and friends.  Music by BI Marcellais, Roland Marcellais, and Ryan Keplin.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow funeral services at St. Benedict's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
