Obituary

Dale Trottier, age 62, of St. John, ND passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his home.

Dale Burton Trottier was born on January 22, 1959 in San Jose, California to Burton and Patricia (Dumont) Trottier.  He was raised in St. John and completed his education at St. John High School.  He enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.  Dale was the proud father of one son, Dale Jr., and worked in carpentry for many years.  He loved the outdoors, especially golfing, and watching the 49ers football.  He was a jack of all trades, being able to fix just about anything, and was a history buff.  Dale enjoyed playing cards, pinochle and whist, and chess on occasion if he could find an opponent.  His baking skills will be remembered by family as well as his gift of drawing.  He enjoyed music and liked listening to the band CCR. Dale will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Dale is survived by his son, Dale Trottier Jr. of California; mother, Patricia Eller of Belcourt; father, Burton (Lil) Trottier of Boissevain, MB; siblings, Valerie Trottier of Belcourt, Cindy Trottier of Minot, Glenda (Rob) Bryant of St. John, and Neil Trottier of Lawrence, Kansas; nieces and nephews, Marcie Carvalho, Michelle Harviell, Corrilyn (Dan) Henry, Kyle (Chasity) Malaterre, Colette Malaterre, Mike (Lisa) Bryant, Beau (Paige) Bryant, Tyler (Callie) Bryant, and Anthony (Natalie) Koistinen; and 10 great nieces and 10 great nephews.

Pall Bearers are Mike Bryant, Kyle Malaterre, Anthony Koistinen, Beau Bryant, and Tyler Bryant.

Dale was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mildred Beaver, Agnes Wheeler, Pat Trottier, and aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Senior Citizen's Center, St. John, ND.  Father Richard Fineo officiating.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Rolette, ND in the spring.
