Obituary

Conrad Desjarlais, age 86, of Rolette, ND passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Rolette Community Care Center, Rolette, ND.

Conrad Alfred Desjarlais was born on Sseptember 2, 1934 in Belcourt, ND to Alfred and Cecelia (Bercier) Desjarlais.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  Conrad was united in marriage to Lorraine Jay on February 4, 1964 in California.  Together they raised six children, Darren, Rodney, Charlene, Marvin, Craig, and Cindy.  Conrad worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years as well as being a welder for Turtle Mountain Manufacturing and Neameyer's before retiring.  He enjoyed the outdoors fishing, going to the casino, playing dice with his family, and most of all, carpentry work.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Conrad is survived by his children, Darren (Betty) of Grafton, Rodney (Shelly) of Kalispel, MT, Marvin of Minot, Craig of Minot, and Cindy (Lucas) Griffore of Surrey; 20 grandchildren, Stephan, Jesse, Christopher, Katie, Mitchell, Max, Denver, Tia, Cameron, Joshua, Benjamin, Shineen, Jessica, Jennifer, Alyssa, Kyle, Talor, Wynona, Joey, and Tylo; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Elsie Thomas of St. John, Andy (Dorothy) of Williston, Marin of Virginia, Eugene (Julie) of Belcourt, Dennis of Devils Lake, Pauline Trottier of Belcourt, and Theresa Craigs of Belcourt; and many nieces and nephews.

Conrad was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Desjarlais, mother, Cecelia Azure, wife, Lorraine Desjarlais, daughter, Charlene Desjarlais, and sisters, Helen, Evelyn, Doris, Darlene, and Dorothy.

Funeral services will take place in the summer of 2021.
