Colin Kelly Brunelle Sr., age 63, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at his home.

Colin Kelly Brunelle Sr., Bimise Giizhig, "Flies into the Day," was born on June 8, 1962 in Belcourt, ND to Martin and Sarah (Brunelle) Gourneau.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  Kelly met Katherine Nadeau and together they had two children, Myles and Kyle (Kitty) Brunelle.  Later he married Jerrilyn Mundy in 1992 and had four children, Colin Jr., Cody, Kiara, and Koby Brunelle.  Also, they raised and adopted many foster children.  Kelly worked in law enforcement, search and rescue, as well as being a bus driver.  He ran the DARE program where he would go to the schools and teach about drug use.  He then moved to Bemidji, MN where he met Radie Simons while working in law enforcement. He was an investigator for gangs, drugs, and guns task force in Red Lake, MN. Later, he and Radie moved back to Belcourt and married on July 15, 2023.  Kelly loved to gamble, go to the casinos, and travel.  He also liked the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  Kelly as a very social person, always out and about visiting with friends and family.  He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Radie Simons-Brunelle of Belcourt; children, Myles (Lacy) Brunelle of Rolla, Colin Brunelle Jr., Cody (Hailey Hanlan) Brunelle, Kiana (Boyd) Belgarde, all of Belcourt, Koby (Nicole LaVallie) Brunelle of New Town, Nolen Demery, Chance Brunelle, Damian Brunelle, Michael Brunelle, Rose Brunelle, Rozlynn Davis, Mylena Brunelle, Tatum Davis, Joshua Mundy, Shanae Brunelle, Tiffany Brunelle, Alix Belgarde, all of Belcourt; numerous grandchildren including Ariannah, Jetta, Katie, Kenzie, Kolt, Kota, Emerly, Kasha, Josslyn, Logan, Isla, Rhayn, Kenai, and Ozzy; and brother, Randy (Dolly) Brunelle of Belcourt.

Kelly was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, son, Kyle (Kitty) Brunelle, uncles, Alan (Linda) Brunelle, Sherman and Brent Brunelle, and his best friend and gambling partner, Ike Trottier Sr.

Casket Bearers are Bill Brunelle, Myles Brunelle, Cody Brunelle, Colin Brunelle Jr., Chris Laverdure, Koby Brunelle, Chance Brunelle, and Darian Hollis. Honorary Bearers are Al Charette, Tatum Davis, Damian Brunelle, Michael Brunelle, and Nolen Demery.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Derrick Dixon Complex, Belcourt, ND.
