Clarence "Crow" DeCoteau, age 71, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at the Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility, Belcourt, ND.

Clarence Eugene "Crow" DeCoteau was born on August 12, 1949 in Belcourt, ND to Steven and Mary (Nadeau) DeCoteau.  He was raised in Belcourt and attended school in Chamberlain, SD.  He began working at the age of 16 for Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler, taking care of their livestock.  Clarence worked various places and was well known for his mechanic work.  He worked for Texaco Gas Station in Dunseith, Parisien Gas Station in Belcourt, Halls Potato Company in Pesik, G & M Construction in Dunseith, and at Marion Trucking and Construction in Dunseith.

Clarence was united in marriage to Lucy Marie Belgarde on November 5, 1971 in Rolla.  Together they raised three children, RaeLynn, Gene, and Tim.  In Clarence's younger days he enjoyed taking care of his horse to go meet his future wife, his little Lucy.  He liked hunting, fishing, cooking, gardening, camping, horse racing, bingo, the casino, and spending time with his family.

Clarence is survived by his children, RaeLynn (Dale) Belgarde, Gene (Michelle) DeCoteau, and Tim (Lacey) DeCoteau, all of Belcourt; 12 grandchildren, Kaleb (Kaylen) DeCoteau, Tayleah DeCoteau, Dallyn Belgarde, Axel DeCoteau, Robert (Jamie) Belgarde, Robin (Gilbert) Fiddler, Ross (Rachel) Belgarde, Matthew (Trisha) Church, Conner (Destiny) Church, Keaton Martin, Kaitlyn Martin, and Gerrick Martin; eight great grandchildren; and his siblings, Robert "Bob" Boyer of St. John, Bernita Bruce of St. John, Melvin Boyer of Williston, Francis (Georgette) Boyer of Wagner, SD, Maria (Don) Jensen of Milwaukee, WI, Carol A. DeCoteau of Aurora,  CO, Beverly (John) Schaff of Rapid City, SD, Donna M. DeCoteau of Belcourt and MonaLisa (Daniel) DeCoteau of Belcourt.

Clarence was preceded in death by his life long loving little Lucy, his parents, brothers, Sylvester "Skip" Boyer, Vincent DeCoteau, Dennis J. DeCoteau, Alvin DeCoteau Sr., Kenneth "Joe" DeCoteau, and Curtis M. DeCoteau, sisters, Jeanette (Jeannie) Krumweide and Debbie Bullock, father and mother-in-law, Pat and Rachel Belgarde, brother-in-law's, Dennis (Joan) Belgarde, Glenn Belgarde, Ray Bruce, and Joe Krumweide, sister-in-law's, Eileen (Sidney) Counts, Helen (Gerald) Nadeau, and Joy Boyer, and niece, Lisa Ann Counts-Ogden.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Father Tony Hession presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
