Christa LaFountain-Hoover, age 32, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND surrounded by her loving family.

Christa Rose LaFountain-Hoover was born on March 27, 1987 to Patty Chidester and Alfred LaFountain in Belcourt, ND. She was born and raised in Belcourt with her three siblings, Heather, Harleigh, and Markus. Christa was the second oldest and was the protector of her sisters and brothers. She attended Ojibwa Indian School and graduated the 8th grade attending Belcourt High School until 10th grade. Christa then welcomed her oldest daughter, Kristen Janelle Patnaude. Christa then married Monte Hoover in 2010 and they later separated, welcoming two more daughters, Mollee and Payton. Christa loved being a mom. She always loved fixing her daughters hair and loved shopping for them. She had various jobs throughout her life, whether it was hotel clerk or cashier, she always enjoyed her jobs. Christa loved holding and being around her seven nieces and nephews. She was always the one to offer to babysit or carry the baby. Her nieces and nephews loved their "Auntie Christa" so very much. Baby Chris Gillis III was the one Christa always spoiled and stuck up for. She loved time spent with her family and to talk and laugh. She would make sure to stop in and see her dad, Alfred. Their visits always meant something to both of them. Christa was Patty's tail, she loved her mama so much and would tease her siblings saying that she was mom's favorite. She is greatly loved by her family and friends and she will be cherished and missed very much.

Christa is survived by her mother, Patty (Mike) Allery; father, Alfred LaFountain; children, Kristen, Mollee Ann, and Payton; siblings, Heather (Frank) Tetrault, Harleigh (Koda) Davis, and Markus (Mandy) Davis; nieces, Kennadie, Novalei, Nayalei, and Maylahni; nephews, Christopher, Kaelob, and Markus Jr.; foster sisters, Cheyenne and Chloie; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Christa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Stella and Fred LaFountain, Betty Chidester, and Edward Chidester, aunts, Janelle LaFountain and April LaFountain, niece, baby girl Davis, cousins, Lucan Thomas and Richard "Ponch" McCloud, and loved one, Kyle Patnaude.

A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 1:00 PM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Fr. Jim Mulligan presiding. Burial will be in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
