Cheron Keplin, age 47, of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.
Cheron Lea Keplin, Turtle Shell Woman, was born on January 20, 1975 in Belcourt, ND, the daughter of Leonard and Denise (Gourneau) Keplin. She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education at Turtle Mountain Community High School, graduating in 1993. She furthered her education at United Tribes College obtaining an LPN degree and then received her RN degree from UND. Cheron last worked as a nurse for Meridian Behavioral Health in East Grand Forks, MN. Cheron was active in the Catholic church in her younger years, attending youth rallies and made retreat weekends such as TEC and Cursillo. She loved time spend with her grandchildren, whom she became guardian over. Family and friends were very important to her. She was full of life and liked to spend time with people, she was a very giving and generous person and would help family and friends in need. She enjoyed the outdoors, riding motorcycle and tubing at the river. She was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and had the ability to bring a smile to anyone's face. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. Cheron will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family members and many friends.
Cheron is survived by her daughter, Seanna Keplin of Belcourt; grandchildren, Syrenity, Syleigh, Sylar, and Sylas; parents, Leonard and Denise Keplin of Belcourt; fiancé, Marty Frost; siblings, Michelle Keplin, Scott (Amanda) Keplin, Leonard Keplin Jr., Christopher (April) Keplin, Patrick Beauchamp, LeRoy Beauchamp, and Josh Holloway; nieces, Dusty, Emily, Millie, Zhawna, and Heart; and nephews, Brandon, Buzz, Arthur, Antonio, and Knight.
Cheron was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Casket Bearers are Brandon Vivier, Christopher Keplin, Scott Keplin, Josh Holloway, Donovan Howling Wolf, and Tyson Sullivan.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
