Charlotte Thompson, age 76, of Rolette, ND passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at SMP-St. Andrew's Hospital, Bottineau, ND.

Charlotte Marie (Malo) Thompson was born on September 25, 1948 in Rolla, ND to Paul and Lenore (Casavant) Malo.  She was raised in Rolette and completed her education there as well, graduating from Rolette High School in 1967.  Charlotte was united in marriage to Dean Thompson on November 14, 1970 in Thorne, ND.  Together they raised two children, Darren and Kristy.  Charlotte was a talented seamstress, who loved to design beautiful garments for her family.   She worked for her sister-in-law, Betty Grenier, at Creations by the Yard for many years. She liked living in the country and being on the farm. Being outdoors, golfing and tending to her garden brought her much joy, as well as canning her produce.  Charlotte also liked visiting the area casinos on occasion. She loved time spent with her family members, her husband, children, grandchildren, and her brothers and sisters. Being the middle child of 13, she was considered as the "commander in chief" of her younger siblings.  She especially enjoyed the "sister's trips".   She will be fondly remembered for her feisty personality and strong will. Charlotte was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Charlotte is survived by her son, Darren (Lisa) Thompson of Rolette; daughter, Kristy (Luke) Vollertsen of Kalispell, MT; five grandchildren, Carly Thompson, Courtney Thompson, Troy Thompson, Alyssa Vollertsen and Chase Vollertsen; siblings, Margaret (Ted) Mears of Rugby, Pauline (Arnold) Beaver of Rolette, Allen (Linda) Malo of Rolette, Carol (Richard) Gault of Hinsdale, MT, Terry Malo of Big Lake, MN, Robert (Brenda) Malo of Rolette, Marlys Kildahl of Fargo, Dale (Tami) Malo of Beulah, Denise (Tim) Young of Moorhead, MN, Cindy (Dennis) Lagasse of Bottineau, and Curtis Malo of Stanton; and many nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lenore Malo, husband, Dean Thompson, brother, Ronald Malo, sister-in-law, Jocelyn Malo, and father and mother-in-law, Troy and Pearl Thompson.

A private family burial will take place at Rolette City Cemetery, Rolette, ND.
