Charles Hall Sr., age 75, of Rolla, ND passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 at the Belcourt Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Charles Patrick Hall Sr. was born on March 17, 1945 in St. John, ND to George and Marie (St. Germaine) Hall.  Charles, lovingly known to most as "Charlie", was raised in St. John and completed his education there as well.  He enlisted in the United States Army in 1962 and received an honorable discharge in 1965.  He was united in marriage to Peggy Ann DeMontigny and they later divorced.  He was the proud father of four children, George, Alice, Charles A., and Charlene.  Charlie worked for the BIA in Minneapolis and Belcourt as Facility Management Specialist, along with several other positions with the Indian Health Service.  During his time in Minneapolis, Charlie met Rebecca Ybarra Raisch, who he spent many loving years with until health reasons and later her passing caused them to be separated.  He was a member of the Lilley-Dionne American Legion in Belcourt.

In additions to his enlisted work life with the US Government, Charlie was also a very well-known, highly skilled house mover and carried on his house moving side business for well over 40 years.  During his life he was involved with many clubs and organizations including the Saddle Club, Horseman's Club, Rodeo Club, American Legion, and Knights of Columbus.  One of the greatest highlights of his life was being a 4 ^th degree Grand Knight Honor Guard for Pope John Paull 'II during his visit to Winnipeg, MB in September 1984.  Charlie will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Charles Sr. is survived by his children, George Hall of Rolla, Alice (Lonnie) Nadeau of Fargo, Charles A. (Jessell) Hall of Rolla, and Charlene Hall of Rolla; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Melford, Herbert, Rebecca, Sheila, Valorie, Martina, and Florene.

Charles Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie Hall, brothers, Earl Hall, Corbert Hall, and Walter Peabody, grandson, Colt E. Allery, and significant other, Rebecca Raisch.

Casket Bearers are Shaun Hall, Charles Hall, Brent Vandal, George Hall Jr., Robert Hall, and David DeMontigny.  Music by Ryan and John Keplin, and Terry Baker.  Readers are Misty Blue Youngbear and Christina Bassen.  Gift bearers are Craig and Kellie Hall.  Military Honors by the Lilley-Dionne American Legion of Belcourt and the Military Funeral Honor Team of Grand Forks, ND.

A visitation will begin at 8:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, ND with a Rosary Service at 9:00 AM and Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, all in the church.  Father Richard Fineo presiding.  Military Honors will follow the funeral mass.  Burial will take place at a later date.
