Charlene Fluhrer, age 71, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Quentin Burdick Health Care Facility, Belcourt, ND.

Charlene Ann Fluhrer was born on May 27, 1950 in Belcourt, ND to Harry and Lena (Gunville) Azure.  She was raised in Dunseith and completed her education at Dunseith Day School and Dunseith High School.  Charlene furthered her education at TMCC in Belcourt for two years obtaining a degree in Early Childhood Education.  Charlene was united in marriage to Everette Fluhrer on February 24, 1968 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dunseith, now St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.  She was the proud mother of six children, Lori, Randy, David, Crystal, Everette Jr., and Jessica.  Charlene worked at San Haven north of Dunseith for 17 years until its closing and then for the Dunseith Elementary School as a library aide.  She dearly loved her work and the children she encountered on a daily basis, they in turn loving "grandma" right back.  Charlene enjoyed word and picture finds, going to the casino on occasion, watching her favorite shows, and attending basketball games, cheering on her kids.  She loved time spent with family and friends, especially taking care of her grandchildren, who brought her so much joy.  Charlene will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family members, students, and community.

Charlene is survived by her husband, Everette Fluhrer of Dunseith; children, Lori Schroeder, Randy (Kandy) Fluhrer, David (Christine) Fluhrer, Crystal Fluhrer, Everette Fluhrer Jr., and Jessica Fluhrer, all of Dunseith; 11 grandchildren, Virgil Schroeder, Amber Schroeder, Ashley Lilley, Ryan Fluhrer, Alex Fluhrer, Ariel Fluhrer, Kyle Fluhrer, Jasmine St. Claire, Matthew Johnson, Katilynn Wilson, and Paxton Azure; six great grandchildren, William Schroeder, Selena Lilley, Exilan Lilley, Jackson Cromwell, Ezekiel Vega, and Damian Herald; and siblings, Geraldine Azure, Josephine Hall, and George (Cecelia) Azure.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Cecelia Azure, granddaughter, Tiffany Demery, and great grandson, Stetson Schroeder.

Casket Bearers are Virgil Schroeder, George Azure Jr., Jared Azure, Ryan Fluhrer, Treagan Azure, and Tayden Azure.  Honorary Bearers are all children.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Dunseith, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the church.  Burial will be in the spring of 2022 at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Dunseith, ND.
