Chad Trottier, age 49, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022 near Bottineau, ND.

Chad William Trottier was born on January 20, 1973 in Rolette, ND to Charles and Sharon (Schindler) Trottier.  Chad grew up in Belcourt and attended Turtle Mountain Community Schools and Turtle Mountain Community College.  He married Tara Samuelson on November 30, 1996 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Belcourt. He was employed at Sky Dancer Casino for nearly 27 years up until his passing.  Chad enjoyed anything outdoors but mostly riding his Harley, trapshooting, hunting, and fishing.  He shared a passion for trapshooting with the youth as he was coach for the Rolette Wildlife Club.  Chad enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was a great storyteller and had a way of making everyone laugh.  He loved to share his knowledge with others.

Chad is survived by his wife, Tara; sons, Dalton (Anna) Trottier of Fargo, ND and Brody Trottier of Belcourt; daughters, Laney Trottier of Lolo, MT and Timber Trottier of Belcourt, ND; parents, Charles and Sharon; sisters, Tresa Trottier and Shawna Trottier, both of Belcourt, ND; brother, Troy Trottier of Fargo, ND; uncle, Sarge (Rhonda) Schindler of Las Vegas, NV; aunt Leanne Shindler of Belcourt, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents, William "Fred" and Genevieve Schindler, and Roy and Marion Trottier, aunt, Joan Alvord, nephew, Isaac LaVallie, and a Godchild, Curtiss "CJ" Thomas Jr.

Casket Bearers are David St. Claire Jr., Howard Longie Jr., Troy Trottier, Dean Azure, Shannon Hajicek, and Wrangler Nadeau.  Honorary Bearers are Godchildren, Ian LaVallie, Dustin Trottier, and David St. Claire III.  Music by Betty Hamley and Chad Marcellais.  Eucharistic Gifts by Tresa Trottier and Shawna Trottier.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 prior to the funeral mass in the church.  Burial will be in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND at a later date.
