Cecil Jeanotte Jr., age 78, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

Cecil Lawrence "Sonny" Jeanotte Jr. as born on May 26, 1945 in Belcourt, ND to Cecil Sr. and Evelyn (Dionne) Jeanotte.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education at Belcourt High School.  Sonny furthered his education at college for two years following high school.  He was united in marriage to Betty Malaterre on July 26, 1994 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Belcourt.  He was the proud father of three children, Kim, Kevin and KC, as well as step-father to Ronald, Julie, James, Joseph, and Esther. Sonny worked as a general contractor throughout his life.  He enjoyed the outdoors, going to auctions, ice fishing, and golfing.  He loved time spent with family and friends and traveling with Betty, often to California to see his son.  Sonny had a strong faith through the catholic church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife, Betty Jeanotte of Belcourt; children, Kim Bowli, Kevin Jeanotte, and KC Jeanotte; step-children, Ronald Thomas, Julie Thomas, James Thomas, Joseph Thomas, and Esther Thomas; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, JoAnn Parson.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. A meal will follow services at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.
