Cecelia St. Germaine, age 96, of Rolette, ND passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the Rolette Community Care Center, Rolette, ND.

Mary Cecelia St.Germaine, commonly known as Fee to family and friends, was born on May 6, 1925.  She was the oldest child of ten children born to Ferdinand and Emily (LaFromboise) Jerome.

Fee enjoyed telling stories of her youth to her children and grandchildren.  She would talk about the long buggy rides that her parents, her siblings and she would take to get into town from their homestead which was out past Gordon Lake.  She would mention that the extreme heat during the summer did not make the best buggy ride weather, but she enjoyed it much more than the bitter cold winter rides.  Fee would talk about various adventures that occurred along the way, but one of her favorite memories she shared was when the family would get dressed in their very best and get bundled up to go to midnight mass on Christmas Eve in the buggy.  When she spoke of the moonlight shining down on them, the snow glistening, the talking and laughter, it was very easy to imagine that you were in on the ride.

Fee met Charles Gladue Sr., and they married on May 12 ^th , 1942.  They made their home in the Belcourt area for several years, it was here that their five oldest children; Betty, Christopher, Paulette, Charlotte and Joyce were born.  In the early 1950's they relocated to California for employment purposes.  It was in California that their two youngest children; Loretta and Charles Jr., were born.  Fee's marriage to Charles Sr. ended in divorce and Charles Sr. moved back to North Dakota.  Fee continued to live in California, where she worked in a fish cannery; Harvey's Aluminum (making parts for military usage); at a school cafeteria and, as an independent seamstress.  It was in California that she met and married Frank Bryson.  With the two youngest children Fee and Frank chose to live Belcourt where Frank joined his brother-in-law Ferdinand "Bucky" Jerome in his electrical business while Fee started work ing at the Turtle Mountain Headstart as the head cook.  Fee and Frank bought land north of Belcourt, they moved in a house and lived there until Frank's death in 1977.  Fee maintained her home in the Belcourt area and worked at the Headstart until her retirement many years later.  Throughout this time and up until 2005 Fee continued her work as an independent seamstress, making ribbon skirts, ribbon shirts, jingle dresses, altering wedding and formal wear.  She could do it all and community members always knew where to go when they needed something made or altered.  Sewing was one of Fee's passions and she loved to make crafts of many kinds.  In her senior years she met Patrick "Joe" St. Germaine, they married in the early 1990's, as retirees they both enjoyed crafting and attended many craft fairs where they would set up tables to sell their crafts and buy other crafts when they caught their eyes.   Joe passed away in November of 2008.  A few short years after Joe's death, Fee moved into the Rolette Community Nursing Home and remained there until her death Friday, July 2 ^nd .

Fee is survived by her children Paulette Duarte, Charlotte Duarte, and Charles (Cathie) Gladue Jr. of Belcourt, North Dakota, Joyce (Joe) Riveria of Artesia, NM and Loretta (Phillip) Campbell of Aurora, CO., 19 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Siblings: Daniel (Bridget) Jerome, Julia Burchum, Addie Brunelle, Agnes Azure, Dwain (Delia) Jerome all of Belcourt and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Fee was proceeded in death by her parents, children Betty and Christopher Gladue, grandchildren, Charlene "GoGo" Duarte and Kenneth Chavarria, great grandchildren Everly LaFountaine and Eastan LaFountaine, sons-in-law Willie Duarte, Joe Duarte Sr. siblings Joseph Jerome, Ferdinand "Bucky" Jerome, Russel Jerome, Estelle Trottier Dauphinais,  brothers-in-law Ervin Burchum, Peter Peltier, Francis "Sonny" Brunelle, Peter "Butch" Azure, Ronald Trottier sisters-in-law Delcie Jerome, Janice "Janie" Jerome, nephew Stevie Peltier and great nephew Terrance Jerome.

A Memorial Mass will be Monday, July 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND.  A visitation will begin at 8:00 AM with a Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Father Tony Hession presiding.  Burial will be in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
