Caroline Short, age 70, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Garrison Memorial Hospital, Garrison, ND.

Caroline Ann Short was born on October 26, 1949 in Belcourt, ND to Fabian and Lucy (Parisien) Short.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education there as well.  Caroline was the proud mother of seven children whom she raised on her own, Kelly, Ernest Jr., Ronald, Roxanne, Orlanda, Joshua, and Jodie.  She was a wonderful homemaker and bread maker while raising her children.  She enjoyed watching investigative television shows, cooking and baking, and cleaning her home.  Caroline had a very close relationship with her grandchildren and loved her time spent with them and her entire family.  She will be forever remembered and greatly missed.

Caroline is survived by her children, Kelly Short of Texas, Ernest Houle Jr. of Fargo, Ronald (Kayla) Houle of Belcourt, Roxanne (Bobby) Ensrude of Dunseith, Orlanda Jeanotte of Belcourt, Joshua Jeanotte of Belcourt, and Jodie (Randy) Jeanotte of Rolla; 28 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and siblings, Billy of Belcourt, Ronnie of Belcourt, Skeeta of California, Ricky of Belcourt, Joyce of Belcourt, Sheila of Belcourt, and Jimmy of New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fabian and Lucy Short, grandchildren, Kaylob Houle and Charlotte Fleetwood, and her siblings, Eugene, Betty Ann, and Dorothy.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 9:30 AM prior to the mass.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
