Carol Patenaude, age 68, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Rolette Community Care Center, Rolette, ND.

Carol Faye Patenaude was born in Belcourt, N.D to George and Julia "Blanche" (Short) Patenaude on November 29, 1954.  She attended school at St. Ann's Catholic School and Belcourt Public School.  She completed her GED. Then, she attended the Turtle Mountain Community College, in Belcourt N.D., where she graduated and was one of the first women to earn a Welding Certificate.  She later worked at the ATRON building in Belcourt N.D. and was an expert at constructing computer boards, which she earned bonuses for because of her master craftsmanship.

Carol enjoyed spending time with family and especially enjoyed calling and checking on her family whenever she had an opportunity.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, and nature.  She also had a special love for cats and owls.  Carol will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

She is survived by her only (twin) son Michael Patenaude of Belcourt, ND; and sister, Elizabeth Beston of Belcourt, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Julia "Blanche" Patenaude; only (twin) daughter, Michelle Patenaude; brothers, Richard Patenaude, Elmer Patenaude, Edward Patenaude, Melvin Patenaude, John "Sam" Patenaude, and Ray Blue; and sisters, Helen Bercier, Barbara Patenaude, Evelyn Charette, and Joyce "Judy" Grant.

The family would like to thank everyone for all the wonderful thoughts and prayers.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will be at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND in the spring.  Father Michael Wayne Slovak, SOLT presiding.
