Brenda Demery, age 57, of Belcourt, ND passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023, near Belcourt, ND

Brenda Marie (LaFontaine) Demery was born on March 27, 1966 to Clarence LaFontaine and Judy Moore in Seattle, Washington. She attended boarding school in Wahpeton. At the age of 19 Brenda had Renee and two years later Travis was born.  Brenda enjoyed moving around the country living in Seattle, Utah, Wyoming, Fargo, and eventually moved back to Belcourt. Brenda continued her education graduating from Turtle Mountain Community College with her Associates of Science and Associates of Arts. She was united in marriage to Ferlyn Demery on February 15, 2005. Together they had Christina, Martina, and Samantha. She was a loving mother, wife, grandma, aunt, niece, daughter, and friend. Brenda worked was a Probation Officer for the Turtle Mountain band of Chippewa for many years. She loved working for the community and running her own business with her brother Jason within this last year. She enjoyed going to the casino, planting her garden, decorating her home, sewing, baking. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Brenda will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Ferlyn Demery; children, Renee (Ryan) Demery of Belcourt, Travis (Katie) LaFromboise of Belcourt, Christina Demery of Fargo, Martina Demery of Belcourt, Samantha (Owen) Demery of Dunseith, and step-son Quinten Demery of Dunseith; 11 grandchildren, Austin Grant Jr., Abel Grant, Azec Grant, Asher Delorme, Lilly Little Owl, Kalani Little Owl, Madison Parisien, Melanie Parisien, Drey Demery, Trey Demery, and Braylee Demery; siblings, Norberta (Joe) Greywind of Oberon, ND, Ann (Deneen) Mendel of Newbegn, IN, Jason (Marion) LaFontaine of Belcourt, Kevin (Sarah) LaFontaine of Fargo, Loren (Michelle) LaFontaine of Belcourt, Bryan LaFontaine of Grand Forks, and Myron LaFontaine of Montana.

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother Judy Moore- LaFontaine, sister Bonnie LaFontaine, grandmothers Edna LaFontaine, and Marie Blue-Davis, and niece Savanna Greywind.

Pallbearers are Eric Houle, Eric Houle Jr., Kenny Ironmoccasin, Owen Parisien, Kevin LaFontaine Jr., Ryan Delorme, Daylon Delorme. Readers are Terri Martin and Kaylie Hairychin. Eucharistic Gifts daughters Renee, Christna, Martina, and Samantha. Eulogy by Madison Dejarlais. Music by Terry Baker. Rosary led by Jeanette Larocque.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Father David Snow presiding.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
