Betty Cromwell, age 79, of Belcourt, ND passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Rolette Community Care Center, Rolette, ND.

Betty Jean "Boston" Cromwell was born on July 2, 1944 in Belcourt, ND to Edward "Capone" Azure and Laura "Bolix" (Enno) Azure.  Betty "Boston" Cromwell grew up and attended St. Ann's Mission school in Belcourt, ND and later attended Chamberlain boarding school in South Dakota.  She raised four children while working numerous jobs, Tomahawk, TMCS for the parent program, Leonardo's in Cando, and Jollie's Fairway as a florist. Boston loved crafting, crocheting, playing cards, dice, casino, singing, fixing puzzles, gardening, and was always so proud of her garden.  She also enjoyed fishing with her kids.  She was always up for a visit or talk on the phone with family and friends.  Boston was a social butterfly with an extraordinary sense of humor.   She loved to sing, dance, and to make people laugh.

Boston, age 79, is survived by her children, Roy Cromwell of Belcourt, Tony Enno of Belcourt, and Peggy (Curt) LaFountain of Bismarck; siblings, Luella "Cuddy" (James) Scott of Minot, Sandra (Ron) Short of Belcourt, Janice (Michael) Norphleet of Minot, and Donna (Paul Sr.) WhiteOwl of Mandaree; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild; and nieces and nephews.

Boston was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Laura Azure, daughter, Jacqueline Pedroza, great granddaughter, Hailey Cromwell, sisters, Patricia "Linish" Swain, Barbara "Fofee" Olson, Diane Vallie, and Shirley "Baby" Montalvo, and brother, James Azure.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 22, 2023 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Father David Snow presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.  A meal will be held at the KC Hall, Belcourt, ND following burial services.
