Betty Duchaine, age 71, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 in Fargo, ND.

Betty Jean Duchaine was born on September 10, 1951 to Kenneth Smith and Bertha Davis. On August 15th 1977, she married Curtis Duchaine Sr. Together they had five children Uriah, Curtis "Bugg", Waylon, Jenny, and Betty. She attended boarding school and later moved back to Belcourt/Dunseith where she finished her education. Betty was a homemaker for most of her life. She found great pride in being able to raise her children. In early years Betty worked also at Dunseith Police Department as a dispatcher.

Betty enjoyed visiting and drinking coffee with family and friends, along with playing cards, going to play bingo around the state, eating at her favorite restaurants, spending time with her cat JJ. Most of all Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her children Uriah Davis of Dunseith, Curtis "Bugg" Duchaine II of Fort Meyers, FL, Waylon (Cassandra) Duchaine of Fargo, Jenny (Tanner) Johnson of Fargo, and Betty (Raymond Jr. Houle) Duchaine of Dunseith; 22 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth Smith and Bertha Davis, husband Curtis Duchaine, grandson Kasey Ray Duchaine-Houle, and son-in-law Richard "Poncho" McCloud.

A Rosary Service will begin at 7:00 PM with visitation starting at 5:00 PM on Thursday,   August 24, 2023 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 25, 2023 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Father Michael Slovak presiding. Burial will take place at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.
