Betty Desjarlais, age 73, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Betty Ann Desjarlais was born on August 17, 1947 in Belcourt, ND to Ruth (Desjarlais) DeMontigny.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education there as well.  Betty was the proud mother of three children, Vickie, Randy, and Jarrod.  She worked as a librarian at the Belcourt School for many years.  Betty enjoyed being outdoors fishing, playing bingo, dancing, and attending cookouts.  She loved time spent with her family members and friends, especially her grandchildren.  Betty will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Betty is survived by her children, Vickie Payer of Rolla and Jarrod (Angell Patnaude) LaFontaine of Minot; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Wallette.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother, son, Randy, brother, Martin Desjarlais, and sisters, Dolly Wallette and Lois LaFrombois.

Casket Bearers are Kyle LaFontaine, Jace LaFontaine, Trent LaFontaine, Jonathan Wallette, Everett LaFontaine, and Wally Schroeder III.  Honorary Bearers are all family and friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Music by Joe Parisien.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM led by Gabrielle Wallette prior to the funeral mass.  Father Tony Hession, SOLT presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
