Bernice McCloud, age 85, of Belcourt, ND passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Bernice S. McCloud was born on February 18, 1939 in Belcourt, ND to John and Antoinette (Malaterre) Allard.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education at boarding school in Fort Totten.  Bernice was united in marriage to William E. McCloud on January 14, 1956 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Belcourt.  Together they had eight children, Alan, Terry, Joan, Richard, Diane, Jeffery, Sherry, and Michael. Bernice worked as a medical ward clerk at the Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital in Belcourt for over 20 years.  She enjoyed knitting and going for walks in her spare time, as well as working on crafts, especially ceramics.  Bernice liked cooking and baking, watching home and garden shows, and working in her flower gardens.  She had a strong faith in God and prayed the Rosary daily, which gave her comfort. Bernice loved spending time with her family members, daily coffee with her children, and having her family near her gave her great peace.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Bernice is survived by her children, Alan McCloud of Belcourt, Terry (Sharon) McCloud of Belcourt, Richard (Julie) McCloud of Belcourt, Diane (Clayton) Keplin of Belcourt, Jeffery (Ann) McCloud of Devils Lake, Sherry (R.T.) Marcellais of Belcourt, and Michael McCloud of Belcourt; 28 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Antoinette Allard, husband, William E. McCloud, daughter, Joan McCloud, grandson, Michael McCloud, brother, Leo Allard and daughter-in-law, Pat McCloud.

Casket Bearers are Alan McCloud Jr., Terry McCloud Jr., Eric McCloud, Clayton Keplin Jr., Billy McCloud, and Jesse McCloud.  Honorary Bearers are all grandchildren. Music by Ryan Keplin and Terry Baker. Rosary by Blake Azure.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Fr. Tony Hession, SOLT presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.  A meal will follow burial services at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.
