Bernard Houle, age 83, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at SMP-St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.

Bernard Corbert Houle was born on December 21, 1939 in Belcourt, ND to Christoline and Anna (Allery) Houle.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  He lived in Brockett, Alberta for a time before moving back to North Dakota. Bernard was the proud father of six children, Darrell, Vaughan, Riel, Terry, Jesse, and Barney. Bernard was married to Dila Houle. He worked in trucking for Marion Construction in Dunseith.  Bernard enjoyed working on vehicles and carpentry.  He loved time spent with his family members, especially his grandchildren.  Bernard will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Bernard is survived by his wife, Dila Houle of Brockett, Alberta; sons, Darrell Houle, Vaughan Houle, and Riel Houle; grandchildren, Natasha Wildcat, Theron WhiteBear, Gavean WhiteBear, and Haileigh WhiteBear; great grandchildren; and brother, Dave Houle.

Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Terry, Jesse, and Barney Houle, grandchild, Zachariah WhiteBear, and brothers, Patrick, Alfonse, Clarence, Wolford, and Francis.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND.
