Obituary

Badger Wa'xtaki Ray LittleOwl, age 18, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Badger (Wa'xtaki) Ray LittleOwl, also known as His sister's protector (Autumn), was born in Bismarck, ND on February 16, 2004 to Leon Paige LittleOwl and Donna Rae Belgarde.  Badger grew up in Mandan/Lincoln/Bismarck area.  In 2017, Badger and his family moved to Belcourt, ND.  In 2019, Badger and his family then moved to Minot, where he attended the local high school.  He was a very smart young man, but he did not feel comfortable attending that school, so when he turned 16, he studied for his GED, obtaining it three months later.  Badger was ready to take on the world so he moved back to Bismarck, where he got his first job.  He worked alongside his sister, Destiny, at Papa Johns.  He also showed great interest in music.  It seemed as though he could pick up any instrument and with ease, play it, by ear.  Badger decided he wanted to try out the horizons and he moved to California.  He spent about four months there before coming back to North Dakota.  He started to look at his future and decided he wanted to attend college in Albuquerque, NM, to pursue his passion in the business world.  He had dreams of being his own boss and owning several businesses.  Badger also wanted to learn how to be an investment broker, learning all about stocks and bonds.  He was passionate about becoming a gaming Steamer and wanted to go live on YouTube.  He would play games with his friends and family from afar and always enjoyed himself.

Badger grew up around the Sundance, whom he loved dearly.  He was very proud to be Mandan/Chippewa.  When it came to him learning about his spirituality, he was very proud of all the teachings and knowledge he gained.  Due to him attending the Sundance, they became his other family and he was loved dearly by them.  Badger grew into the most loving, handsome, young man with the brightest smile and who gave the best hugs.  Badger had many friends that he took as family, that he loved, and who loved him in return.

Badger is survived by his parents, Leon Paige LittleOwl and Donna (Gary) Belgarde; sisters, River Deen Gillis, Destiny Aurelia Ann Gillis, Kaydence Valerie LittleOwl, Autumn Breeze LittleOwl, Rebecca Dawn Provincial, Wenelle Nicole Provincial, and Jacinta Mary-Louise Defender; brothers, Connor Jacob Houle and adopted brother, Jayshawn Joshua; grandmother, Raven Heart; and aunts and uncles, Rose Crow Flies High, Joni (Alex) LittleOwl, Ronda (Valiant Sr.) DeCoteau, Deanna Belgarde, Randi StandsAlone, Michael (Sandee) Belgarde, and Victoria (Kallen) Belgarde.
