Obituary

Alice Amyotte, age 91, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at her home.

Alice Amyotte was born on September 6, 1930 in Belcourt, ND to Phillip and Elizabeth (Peltier) Bottineau.  She was raised in Montana and North Dakota, completing her education as a young child.  Alice was united in marriage to Frederick "Fred" Amyotte on September 17, 1955 in Belcourt.  Together they had eleven children, Betty, Clara, Marvin, Sandra, Marla, Ronald, Lawrence, Benedict, Dorothy, Shirley and David.  Alice was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker for many, many years.  In her younger years, while raising her family, she worked in the potato fields in the fall.  Alice enjoyed watching television, especially her soaps, playing cards, cooking and baking, and sewing.  Her faith was very important to her as she attended church regularly and often recited the rosary.  Alice loved time spent with her family members and with her faithful companion, "Tramp."  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family members and many friends.

Alice is survived by her children, Betty Gooden of Belcourt, Clara Thomas of Dunseith, Marvin Amyotte, Sandra Amyotte, Marla (Chuck Nadeau) Amyotte, Ronald Amyotte, and Lawrence Amyotte, all of Belcourt; eleven grandchildren, David Thomas, Karen Gooden-Gourneau, Clayton Amyotte, Ambrose Amyotte, Kenneth C. Roussin, Alicia Amyotte, Kaylene (Roussin) Rimer, Tyler Roussin, Michelle Morin, Ronnie Morin Jr., and Renae Morin; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Elizabeth Bottineau, husband, Frederick "Fred" Amyotte, sons, Benedict and David Amyotte, daughters, Dorothy and Shirley Amyotte, granddaughter, Shelly Gooden, great grandchildren, Steven Morin, Clarence Longie III, and Emma Eve Thomas, and siblings, Joe Bottineau, Rose Amyotte, Vincent Bottineau, Virginia Patnaude, Mary Peltier, Delia LaFountain, Joyce Sweet, and Johnny Bottineau.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will follow services at St. Benedict's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.  Father Tony Hession, SOLT presiding.
