Alfred Trottier, age 74, of Belcourt, ND passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

Alfred Gerald Trottier was born on July 26, 1948 in Belcourt, ND to Martin and Dorothy (Wilkie) Trottier.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  Alfred was united in marriage to Delores "Helen" Wallette on May 10, 1984 and together they renewed their vows on May 10, 2021.  He was the proud father of Darrick, Jake, Billie Jo, Jordan, Kazia, Lynette, Wendy and Shawn.  Alfred worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years and also as a cook for Headstart in Belcourt.  He enjoyed the outdoors, going for walks and fishing, a talented diamond willow carver, and a collector of trading cards of all kinds.  Alfred and Helen enjoyed traveling as well, going on an annual trip from Belcourt to Washington every year.  He liked playing bingo and going to the casino, but mostly loved spending time with his loving wife, family members and friends. He also enjoyed his faithful companions, his dogs, Bambi, Daisy, Tubby, Tine Tine, Tiny Girl, Houdini, and Big Dog, who were always at his side.  Alfred and his family completed his "Bucket List" their last two years together which brought him great peace and happiness.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Delores "Helen" Trottier of Belcourt; children, Darrick (Crystal) Trottier of Belcourt, Jake (Christine) Trottier of Belcourt, Jordan (Autumn) Trottier of Bottineau, Kazia Trottier of Sommerset, PA, Lynette Smith of Devils Lake, Wendy (Robbie) Mock of Oberon, and Shawn Trottier of Oberon; 21 grandchildren, Bruce Wallette, Kendal Poitra, McKina Jo Trottier, Patricia Trottier, Jake Trottier, Samara Oaks, Jace Oaks, Owen Oaks, Alex Smith, Elektra Chadwick, Levi St. Germaine, Devin Smith, John Smith, Shay St. Germaine, Brianna Smith, Kyle LaFontaine, Gina LaFontaine, Raiden Houle, Lucas Trottier, Penelope Trottier, and Aurora Trottier; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Judy (Eugene "Dolly") Belgarde of St. John, Debbie Trottier of Rolla, Irene Belgarde of Rolla, Dorene (Patrick) DeCoteau of Rolla, Barbara Karakas of Devils Lake, Sherry (Jim) Veach of Rolla, Donna Nesset of Devils Lake, and Myron Trottier of Harlem, MT; and many nieces and nephews.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Dorothy Trottier, daughter, Billie Jo Wallette, son-in-law, John Smith, brothers, Edward Wilkie and Joseph Trottier, and sister, Mary Trottier.

Casket Bearers are Darrick Trottier, Jake Trottier, Jordan Trottier, Levi St. Germaine, Devin Smith, and Kyle LaFontaine.

A visitation will begin at 6:30 PM on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 31, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND.  Burial will take place at a later date.
