Obituary

Alfred Henry, age 63, of Rolette, ND passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Alfred was born on December 22, 1956 in Belcourt, ND to Peter and Gladys (Delorme) Henry.  He was raised in Rural Rolette County and completed his education at Rolette Public School, graduating in 1975.  He furthered his education at Lake Region State College obtaining an Associate Degree in Welding.  Alfred met the love of his life, Bonita Parisien in 1978 and then united in marriage on October 2, 1982 at St. Ann's Catholic Church.  Together they had four children, Joni, Alan, Katie and one angel, Alfred Jr.; he, Bonita and their children enjoyed many beautiful years together. Alfred was a dedicated worker, at the TM Manufacturing Plant for 22 years as a Welder and Supervisor, and prior to his passing was currently employed at the IHS Belcourt Hospital for 23 years in Maintenance. Alfred enjoyed horses, for many of his early adult years he trained and owned racehorses with is uncle Melvin Delorme and dear friend Guilbert Champagne.  He loved spending time with his family whether it was at the lake camping, family gatherings, rooting for the underdog at sporting events, watching westerns and Jeopardy, betting on the horse races, and deer hunting with is family.  Alfred took pride in his lawn and gardening and had a wonderful sense of humor, teasing and joking, always able to bring out a smile at any time.  He liked reading the newspaper, speaking the Mitchif language, and visiting with everyone, especially the elders.  Alfred had a deep devotion to his faith in God throughout his life, prayer was very important to him.  Alfred will be lovingly remembered for his generous and caring spirit towards all.  He will forever be missed.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Bonita of Rolette; children, Joni (Jon Demers) Henry of St. John, Alan Henry of Rolette, and Katie (Courtney LaRocque) Henry of St. John; four grandchildren, River Poitra, Brielle Henry, Kenley Demers, and Miles Demers; mother, Gladys Henry of Rolette; siblings, Darrell (Mary Jane) Henry of Belcourt, Larry "Chris" Henry of Rolette, Carol Champagne of Minneapolis, MN, and Dale Henry of Rolette; sisters-in-law, Connie Parisien, Kathy (Scott) Bryant, Sheila (Rodney) Trottier, Ramona (Bernard) Langan, and Jackie (Loren Azure) Parisien-Brien, all of St. John; brothers-in-law, Gordon (Barbara) Parisien, Michael (Paula) Parisien, and Marshall (Lisa) Parisien, all of St. John; and many nieces and nephews.

His God Children are Darren Henry, Kristin Henry, Hannah Brien, Jhacie Rubenstein, and Quincy McKinley.

Alfred was preceded in death by his son, Alfred Henry Jr., his father, Peter Henry, mother and father-in-law, Philip and Corrine Parisien, brothers-in-law, Lee Parisien and Dale Brien, and sister-in-law, Cecile Parisien.

Casket Bearers are Dallas Delorme, Scott Bryant, Rodney Trottier, Bernard Langan, Jack Parisien, Bernard Belgarde, Melvin Delorme Jr., and Julius Brien.  Honorary Bearers are all family and friends including, Michael Parisien, Gordon Parisien, Marshall Parisien, Darrell Henry, Chris Henry, Dale Henry, Ronnie Poitra, Dennis Enno, Steve Keplin Sr., Cora Champagne-Allery, and Lisa Rogers.  Music by David Blake Azure, Jerry Parisien, and Leonard Keplin.

A visitation will be from 8:00 to 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 with Rosary at 9:00 AM and the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.  Father Michael Slovak officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
